
The Mississippi Black Chamber of Commerce (MBCC) is an inclusive organization that understands that a strong minority business community benefits Mississippi as a whole, and we are dedicated to building and expanding African American owned businesses in Mississippi. Simply put, Mississippi’s diversity will prove to be a tremendous asset to the economic development equation for everyone. With participation and emphasis coming from both the public and private sectors, capacity building among Mississippi’s African American businesses can grow and prosper, thus creating a vibrant economy.
There are over 1 million African American owned business in the United States. According to the 2002 U. S. Census Bureau, Mississippi has approximately 25,000 African American owned businesses that contribute over $1.3 billion to the Mississippi economy. The Mississippi Black Chamber of Commerce serves as a catalyst in increasing those numbers through strong relationships.
